I’m so sorry for your loss.

The week my mother died, my wife was scheduled to go on a business trip.
I tried to convince her that she didn’t need to cancel just because I was planning my mother’s funeral.

She looked at me with sad eyes.

“No, baby. I’m going to cancel my business trip and stay with my husband. Because his mother passed away.”

And I was like, “Oh, yeah. I guess that is what you’re supposed to do…”
