I love this. My son is 10 and I am 49. Someone asked me recently about the “audience” for my writing.

I said my son. Not my son at ten, usually. But my son at 20, in college. My son at 30, hiking the Appalachian Trail. My son at 50, feeling nostalgic.

My son whenever he wants to laugh or cry or think through or connect with his old man.

Because like you, Laura, I know things.
